O'Dowd Consulting Program Perspective
Dr. O’Dowd is available to serve clients in a number of ways. Individual consulting programs are typically custom designed once an introductory informational meeting occurs between Steve and the client. Custom programs may be a one-time event, a series of events, or a recurring longitudinal event. Consulting services take place at the desired location of the client’s choice. Dr. O’Dowd also uses cost-effective video conferencing for distance clients. The prices for custom
consulting programs are dependent on the complexity and needs. Client services are billed hourly, daily, or weekly and payable upon receipt of invoice.

To facilitate client needs, O’Dowd Consulting offers a number of packaged services. These programs offer a buffet of services available to accomplish your strategic organizational needs.
Strategic Planning Status Assessment: The focus of this event is to determine the strategic planning efforts existing and determine gaps or deficiencies in the short-term and long-range plan. This is a one to two day exploratory session.
Strategic Plan Development: The focus of this event is to work with senior managers to develop the contributing elements of the strategic plan. This includes one-on-one coaching in cause and effect planning, resource availability, and capacity analysis. The duration of this event is dependent on the size of the organization.
Board of Director Strategic Planning: The purpose of this event is to facilitate the board of directors to work interdependently in recognizing needs, resources, and emerging issues that affect the governance and operation of the organization. This is typically a
one day event.
Board of Director Selection Criteria: The purpose of the one day event is to present the findings of selection criteria based on successful organizations. The intent is to develop criteria specific to the organization that aids in selecting highly effective board
members.
Leadership Development: The purpose of this program is to develop highly-effective, transformational leaders capable of fulfilling the mission and goals of the organization, developing bench strength, managing change, and motivating others. This program is generally a longitudinal event, with short meetings occurring weekly over time.
Process Effectiveness: The purpose of this program is to tune-up operational processes or to develop new processes to gain operational efficiency and effectiveness. This program also uncovers interdepartmental conflicts and determines solutions to
the issues. This typically involves a series of meetings to discover issues and gaps.

Mission, Values, and Culture Development: The purpose of this program is to explore the interpretations of the owners or senior leaders to reveal the true mission and core values of the organization. This program typically is a one to two day event.
Leadership Coaching: The purpose of this program is to facilitate the development of a leader or manager using one-on-one coaching methods. This coaching is need based and prioritized by the client. The coaching sessions are longitudinal and typically involve one two-hour session weekly.
